Scenario Training was researched and developed for social services’ training and communication needs.
The Scenario Training method was initially designed in 2000, in response to requests from Indigenous Australians for culturally and locally appropriate allied health training. Judith Hewitson and her team at Life Tec QLD consequently designed Scenario Training to deliver an engaging and accessible learning tool for these remote Indigenous communities. The effective impact of these programs on community and staff members encouraged technical development of the Scenario Training platform, thus prompting Cicada.net.au to build interactive software applications and a tailor made Learning Management System. Scenario Training became the preferred eLearning platform within aid and development. Since then, Reality Learning has been established as a non-for-profit that develops Scenario Training programs for NGOs. Here, the team supports NGOs that face a growing demand to use digital mediums to deliver training,community education, and campaigns.
